This video from oorail.com looks at the first L.N.E.R pacific locomotive to be built - the Silver Link. LNER #2509 broke the worlds fastest steam locomotive record on its inaugural run on September 29th 1935. The record would be broken several times by both LNER and LMS locomotives before being smashed by the LNER A4 Pacific "Mallard" on July 3rd 1938.
